Hello, friends! I was going to post this poem in a few weeks, but felt led to go ahead and share it with you. You might recognize a reference to The Chronicles of Narnia in the last stanza.

I'm praying that this poem encourages you. King Jesus is in the business of redeeming and restoring all things, both on a personal and global level. I think this truth is particularly powerful in light of the ways God is currently moving in this region and nation.

"Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.

It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is!

I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands."

- Isaiah 43:19 (The Message Bible)

All Things New

Winds will roar.

Tears will flow.

Waves will mount,

In a sea of seething sorrow.

Doors will slam.

Hearts will shatter.

Dreams will fail

As the rain falls

In a steady patter.

Death is real and near.

Pain is yet nearer.

But in the wind,

In the tears,

In the sorrow of a thousand years,

In the heartbreak,

In the rain,

In the nights of endless pain,

There is a Light.

He is the risen Son,

And He has overcome.

We will rise with Him.

We are rising even now.

From this ache,

Joy will spring.

For with a shake of His mane

He is making all things new.

“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”

- C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
