Tend: Volume 1

Hi, friends! I just wanted to let you know about a fun new project that's developed over the course of multiple conversations with input from wise people.
Over the years, I've had my writing featured in a couple of small literary journals. If you're unfamiliar with this term, a literary journal is usually a collection of poetry and stories, sometimes along with visual art and other forms of creativity. I love the concept of having the work of multiple artists of different mediums featured in one place. And, for a while now, I've been thinking about how cool it would be to develop a literary journal where all the art (whether overtly "Christian" or not) is specifically created with the intent of honoring Jesus.
This is the heart of what I hope "Tend Magazine: Volume 1" will be. The name Tend is drawn from themes of growth, finding healing in community, being pruned and transformed by God, and new life blossoming from ashes. If you're an artist between the ages of 17-23 (or know someone who fits this description) and all this resonates with you, we'd love for you to contribute your visual art, writing, music, dance, and more to this free digital publication! I'm attaching the submission form below, and you can feel free to send any questions to abbi.heavensdeclarepoetry@gmail.com.
I know I haven't shared any poetry on here in a while, and I plan to do so soon. Blessings as you navigate the ups and downs of this week. 💚

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit."
- Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
